District Administrator Marco Voge’s visit to Fr. & H. Lüling GmbH & Co. KG marked the last company visit of his term of office together with the Gesellschaft zur Wirtschafts- und Strukturförderung (GWS). We are delighted about this special appreciation and the intensive exchange about the economic development of our region.
LÜLING has been firmly rooted in Altena since 1857 and is now one of the largest steel mill-independent wire drawing companies in Europe. With around 135 dedicated employees at our Altena and Iserlohn sites, we produce over 70,000 tons of cold heading wire in sizes from two to 36 millimetres every year. Our wire can be found in starter pinions, seat belts, door locks and many other safety-relevant components, not only in Germany but also in the USA, China, India and worldwide.
Our success is based on three central stages of the value chain: Surface treatment, heat treatment and wire drawing. This is complemented by our own testing laboratory, numerous certifications and quality, environmental and energy management. We also maintain close partnerships with universities and actively promote young talent through apprenticeships, internships and collaborations.
“We have a very good relationship with the Märkischer Kreis, the district administrator and the GWS. The direct contact, the open discussions and the uncomplicated support were and are very valuable to us,” emphasizes our Managing Director Christian von der Crone.
LÜLING stands for tradition and progress: With our high-quality products, our innovative strength and our commitment to sustainability and training, we make an important contribution to the future viability of the wire industry in South Westphalia.
